Fashion designer Adam Lippes is making waves in the Lone Star State with his upcoming store opening in Houston, slated for October 2024. This move is just one of 18 planned store openings over the next five years. Lippes recently took center stage as the guest designer at the Neiman Marcus Crystal Charity Ball and fashion show in Dallas, choosing to forgo a traditional New York runway show to connect with his Texan clientele, who make up 15% of his customer base.

Lippes has always considered customer feedback integral to his business strategy. He often embarks on store visits that double as "listening tours" to better understand his customers' desires and preferences. During these visits, he discovered that his clothing made people feel good, sparking a creative journey to craft pieces that became their "go-to" items.

For his Spring Summer 2024 collection, Lippes placed an emphasis on fabric selection. He sourced materials such as double-face silk duchesse, Belgian linen, Chantilly lace, and vibrant madras to create a range of timeless and luxurious pieces. The use of a hand-painted floral motif on a silk crepe skirt, inspired by Danish wallpaper, reflects Lippes's commitment to artisanal craftsmanship. This motif will be screen-printed during production, further enhancing the uniqueness of his designs.

Knits That Tempt - The collection showcased an array of knits that are bound to entice fashion enthusiasts. From hand-knit cashmere sweaters to charming crocheted shift dresses and slinky silk and metal thread ribbed slips, Lippes demonstrated his versatility and mastery in crafting various knitwear styles that cater to diverse tastes.

A Touch of Glamour - While the spirit of Lippes's collection typically leans towards everyday elegance, the Texas setting of his recent fashion show infused an extra dose of glamour into the designs. The standout piece was a strapless mint green gown adorned with hand-embroidered flowers, beaded and crystallized from neckline to hem. This creation resonated with buyers who were willing to invest in something truly unique and special, reaffirming that luxury knows no price resistance.

Incorporating New York Chic - Despite his Texan focus, Lippes ensured that his New York clients were not forgotten. The collection included a black radzimir tuxedo paired with a quilted silk vest, adding a touch of New York sophistication to the overall showcase.
