Blumarine's Spring Summer 2024 show took place in an immaculate white box, a departure from their previous thematic presentations. Gone were the Joan of Arc-inspired collections and dark, underwater scenes. Instead, Blumarine embraced lightness and butterflies.

A New Direction - Designer Nicola Brognano explained that it was time for more light and lightness in the brand's collections. Butterflies, which had made an appearance in a previous TikTok-famous skimpy top, returned as a central motif, along with feathered wings reminiscent of Victoria's Secret.

Angels and Butterflies - Models took on the role of languid, lanky, handsome winged Adonises, strutting down the catwalk in low-rise gold leather trousers that left their smooth, naked torsos dusted with glitter on full display. The combination of angels and butterflies created a sense of captivating allure.

Not-So-Innocent Butterflies - The butterflies, once symbols of innocence and frivolity, were transformed into heavily sequined thongs that barely covered the no-fly zone, humorously referred to as "pussy butterflies" by Brognano. Butterfly-shaped rubber bags from a collaboration with the label "For Bitches" further emphasized this playful concept.

Luminous Lightness - Blumarine's interpretation of purity and airy luminosity extended to the color palette, featuring pale shades. The use of flimsy jersey fabrics that resembled hosiery, ribbons, and flowing trains on ultra-short, sexy outfits enhanced the sense of lightness. Shiny gold leather added a touch of radiance to pedal pushers and corsets.

Bare Necessities - Clear PVC bustiers and pencil skirts, adorned with an abundance of rhinestones and crystals, embodied Blumarine's ode to lightness—almost to the point of nakedness. These designs left very little to the imagination, showcasing the brand's commitment to a daring, provocative aesthetic.
