Encinar Fall Winter 2024-25 Fashion Show

Encinar Fall Winter 2024-2025 collection fashion show at Madrid Fashion Week FW24 (February 16, 2024).

Fabio Encinar returned to the IFEMA runway a year after his debut in February 2023, presenting his Fall Winter 2024-2025 collection at the 79th edition of Fashion Week Madrid. His eponymous label showcased an intriguing collection on the second day of the event, drawing inspiration from one of the most prominent women of 20th-century Spanish history: the Countess of Romanones. The young designer, known for blending craftsmanship with culture in his creations, explained that this new proposal emerges "from the deepest roots of our heritage and folklore, seen through the eyes of someone arriving in Spain from North America in the 1940s." That someone is Aline Griffith, a spy for the Office of Strategic Services in Franklin Roosevelt's America, who seamlessly integrated into the high society of the time, attending sophisticated parties and flamenco tablaos—among her closest friends were the Duchess of Alba and Lola Flores—and eventually fell in love with Count Álvaro Figueroa Torres.

In honor of her memory, the designer sought inspiration, with invaluable assistance from Lulu Figueroa, granddaughter of Aline Griffith, who helped him immerse himself in her story. The looks in this new collection begin with black tones, referencing her espionage days, and gradually evolve into vibrant colors that burst forth in wild silks, moiré, taffetas, and brocades.

Fabio Encinar's Fall Winter 2024-2025 collection pays homage to a remarkable woman whose life was intertwined with espionage, glamour, and love, offering a captivating narrative that seamlessly weaves together history, culture, and craftsmanship. Through his designs, Encinar brings the spirit of Aline Griffith to life, celebrating her legacy and the rich tapestry of Spanish heritage and folklore.
