Germanier Summer 2024 Fashion Show

Germanier Spring Summer 2024 collection fashion show at Paris Fashion Week SS24 (September 26, 2023).

Kevin Germanier's Spring Summer 2024 collection was a striking return to his signature avant-garde style, reminiscent of a rave in space, set in a former car dealership's parking garage.

For this season, Germanier drew inspiration from nudibranchs, soft-bodied marine gastropods known for their vibrant neon colors. He sought to challenge the perception that these creatures, considered dirty by some, could be beautiful and captivating.

Trash served as a key element in the collection, featuring feathers rejected from marabout production, copious amounts of tulle, and an assortment of knick-knacks, including Hello Kitty sequins sourced with the assistance of Brazilian artist Gustavo Silvestre.

The collection oscillated between the "more-is-more" aesthetic that Germanier is known for and a more restrained approach, focusing on elevating denim separates, knits, and dresses. While the former dominated the runway with extravagant elements like giant feathers, metallic knits reminiscent of Rio Carnival floats, and frothy fabric orbs hanging from shoulders and legs, the latter introduced standout pieces. These included sequin-printed pencil skirts, embellished shorts, and mini dresses crafted from brightly colored knits, deserving greater attention amidst the bold and extravagant designs.
