Anticipating large crowds outside the venue at L’École Militaire, Givenchy designated a fan zone for the eager attendees. Inside, a futuristic Big Top designed by Gabriel Calatrava awaited, contrasting with the classically inclined collection presented by Givenchy designer Matthew M. Williams.
Williams continued his dialogue with Carine Roitfeld, infusing the collection with Parisienne flair. High-denier nylons, garter-fastened leather skirts, ruche-detail shoes, and cross-draped chiffon dresses exuded contemporary Parisian chic. Signature Givenchy tailoring with high reveres, notch/peak collars, and wide shoulders framed and overlaid many looks, often in black wool or leather. Wrapped shirting and deconstructed tailoring pieces showcased sculptural influences from artists like Ossip Zadkine and Constantin Brâncuși.
The collection also embraced eveningwear, referencing Audrey Hepburn and Givenchy's heritage. Precious bows reminiscent of Hepburn's iconic look graced jackets and dresses, while satin opera coats combined volume and tailoring architecture. The show featured models with slight, angular frames, echoing Hepburn's own stature.
Floral twists of chiffon, hand-painted flowers, botanical prints, and lace trimmings added heritage details to the collection. Forward-facing elements included dresses with long-front, arch-back hemlines that left the calves framed. Williams's women's designs reflect those around him and blended old-world sophistication with California polish, paying homage to the brand's heritage while staying contemporary.
