Gucci Spring Summer 2024 Fashion Show

Sabato De Sarno made his runway debut as the designer for Gucci, opting to showcase the collection outdoors in Milan's Brera district. While the threat of rain forced the show indoors, it didn't dampen his vision for the brand.

A Youthful Vision - De Sarno's debut collection for Gucci exuded a youthful spirit, with a focus on short hems and leggy looks that resonate with today's young stars. The collection captured the essence of street style, reminiscent of the kind of outfits celebrities would wear while stepping out of a black car, captured by the next generation of paparazzi.

Clean and Elegant Daywear - The collection embraced the trend of clean and elegant daywear, akin to what was seen at Prada and other fashion houses. It featured tailored coats with a 1960s-meets-1990s vibe, super-short shorts, logo rompers and jumpers, body-skimming tanks and knit sets, baggy jeans, and crystal bra tops.

Celebrity Approval - Backstage, the collection received enthusiastic approval from celebrities, including Kendall Jenner, Bad Bunny, Ryan Gosling, Julia Roberts, and Mark Ronson. Jenner congratulated De Sarno, reflecting the collection's appeal to the stars.

The Theme of "Ancora" - The collection was titled "Ancora," which translates to "again" in English. De Sarno explained that the word signifies the desire for more, whether it's a kiss, an embrace, or making love. He aimed to rekindle his love for fashion with this collection, to "fall in love with fashion all over again — ancora."

A Star-Studded Front Row - The show attracted a star-studded front row, with celebrities such as Jessica Chastain, Julia Garner, Jodie Comer, Halle Bailey, Jodie Turner-Smith, and model Daria Werbowy in attendance. Pierpaolo Piccioli, De Sarno's former boss at Valentino, also showed his support for the designer, expressing pride in his work.
