Hermès Spring Summer 2024 Menswear fashion show at Paris Men Fashion Week SS24 (June 24, 2023).

Hermès once again showcased its exceptional craftsmanship and timeless elegance in the Spring Summer 2024 Menswear collection, curated by the talented Véronique Nichanian. Set on a scorching day in Paris, the collection stood out with its sensuality and provocative allure, a departure from the typically cerebral and sophisticated aesthetic associated with the maison.

Designed to combat extreme heat, the collection embraced airy volumes and lightweight fabrics, allowing the wearer's skin to breathe. The garments exuded an effortless sensuality, inviting the onlooker to appreciate the intricate details. Sheer cotton with latticed mesh panels in shirts and chalky-finish sheer fabrics in jackets played with transparency, captivating the eye and encouraging imagination to wander.

The inclusion of shorts, ranging from cottons and linens to lambskin, added a bold touch to the collection. Vogue Business correspondent Laure Guilbault aptly pointed out the brevity of these shorts, to which Nichanian enthusiastically agreed, stating, "The garçons have beautiful legs!" This departure from convention showcased Hermès' willingness to challenge gender norms and embrace fluidity, offering men the opportunity to flaunt their legs in high-hemmed shorts.

However, the collection wasn't solely focused on short shorts and sheer shirts. Hermès stayed true to its heritage and signature style by presenting meticulously tailored pants secured with double-strapped stirrup belts. The trousers boasted a close fit around the hips before gracefully flaring out through pleats, cascading down to mid-ankle. Complementing the pants were exquisite high-soled sandals featuring black, cream, and brown serge strapping, and later, calfskin uppers paired with molded soles etched with rubber studs for enhanced grip.

One category that consistently exudes allure in Hermès collections is their bags, and this season was no exception. The Haut à Courroies bags in brown and marine-touched gray, featuring subtly faded name tags and padlock stencils, exuded an irresistible charm. The burgundy colorway was particularly captivating, evoking a sense of desire. Additionally, the collection showcased tote bags with soft rope and leather, echoing the lattice-like patterns seen in the shirts, alongside a compact, boxy black hip bag with three compartments.
