Held at the English Ballet Company, the Simone Rocha Spring Summer 2024 show exuded a romantic aura, serving as the perfect backdrop for the enchanting frothy garland embellishments that graced her creations.

The stage for this delightful presentation was set at the English National Ballet, where a spell of romance enveloped the room. Fresh pink roses peered out from beneath layers of tulle, crumpled rosettes adorned pristine white shirts complemented by ceremonial sashes, and dresses flaunted bell-shaped skirts that swirled with grace.

Titled "The Dress Rehearsal," Rocha's show featured a striking white-framed structure amidst the dimly lit space, embellished with angels triumphantly trumpeting. Rocha herself explained, "The installation was my interpretation of the Little Ark of Kilbaha," referring to a mobile church in 19th-century Ireland where beachgoers congregated when the tide receded.

SS24 collection danced gracefully between contrasting textures, seamlessly transitioning from dry, papery fabrics, including frosted nylon for balloon-sleeved windbreakers, to the lustrous elegance of duchess satin. Rocha's deft touch allowed her to gather this satin like curtains, fashioning it into austere dresses with intricate folds cascading around the throat.

Adding to the allure were crystal-studded socks and jet-beaded hair bows with long, graceful streamers, a signature touch that epitomizes Rocha's dreamy, homespun femininity.

The menswear in this collection felt perfectly attuned to the sensibilities of modern-day, streetwise Rimbauds. Black parkas glistened with glossy garlands, camp shirts were adorned with what Rocha aptly described as "cotton icing." These design elements breathed life into the collection, infusing it with a contemporary edge that seamlessly coexisted with its ethereal undertones.
