For SS22 collection, SUSAN FANG records the rebirth of 'self-love' and the 'self' to reshape our definitions of love. Blooming roses will be snapped, fresh fruits and vegetables will be cut, yet we regenerate. In - Einstein's Dreams - Alan Lightman says << Suppose time is a circle, bending back on itself. The world repeats itself, precisely, endlessly. >> We are in constant regeneration to pave the way for the new. Susan believes that the past, present and future are happening at the same time. What we lack now may be what we have not seen, but already possess. Susan’s SS22 collection is a love letter to ourselves, in the hopes to amplify our perception and to reconnect and give ourselves the strength of 'self-love'. Susan takes the broken roses and severed fruits and vegetables to create abstract stamps to draw naively the new prints of the season. More than 50 paintings were created in this technique and guided the team into the dreamland of a firework of colour, in a multitude of combinations and colour mixing. Susan once again introduces a new fabric technique she coined as 'AIR FLOWER' for SS22. The printed tulle is cut into strips of different widths, layered, and folded for a 3D and intricate fabric manipulation. The prints of different colours are horizontal, vertical, rectangular or vortex joining together into a mix of space and time.
