Dsquared2 Pre-Fall 2024 Lookbook

Dsquared2 unveils its Pre-Fall 2024 collection lookbook featuring 57 outfits, seamlessly blending both women's and menswear for a captivating sartorial journey into the heart of the Canadian wilderness.

In the heart of a Canadian forest, with autumnal foliage creating a captivating backdrop, the Dsquared2 posse embarks on an adventurous escapade near their cabin retreat. The day seems perfect, with crisp air and enchanting scenery. However, the tranquility takes an unexpected turn when a hungry bear suddenly emerges from the woods, ready to attack. The Catens, Dean and Dan, the creative minds behind Dsquared2, playfully dub this moment "Terror in the Woods" during a sneak peek of their Pre-Fall 2024 collection.

Renowned for their irreverent and humor-infused designs, the Catens envisioned a collection that captures the essence of the Canadian outdoors, but with a mischievous twist. Described as "Outdoorsy, very Canadian—minus some scratches and drops of blood," the collection draws inspiration from the 2023 American horror comedy, "Cocaine Bear." The film, based on true events in Kentucky in 1985, serves as an intriguing muse for the Catens, who find delight in the peculiar.

As if the wild bear had left its mark on the collection, meticulously embroidered scratches adorn patches and flock pockets of denims, cords, surplus lumberjacks, vintage-washed shearlings, and artfully distressed low-slung chinos. The undeniable highlight is the furry bear face, intricately knitted onto chunky cabin sweaters and printed on roomy tees. Encrusted red crystals on these tees suggest dramatic and somewhat bloody encounters amidst the leafy surroundings.

Outerwear in rich autumnal colors takes center stage. Hybridized and distressed interventions lend oversized puffers, felted wool raincoats, field jackets, and anoraks a lived-in quality. In the Catens' universe, cheeky undertones accompany the outdoorsy feel, with midriff-baring tops and ultra-mini minis for her, and hoodies playfully slashed to expose the torso above cargos sitting low on the hips for him—saucy fashion that suggests what happens in the lodge stays in the lodge. Let the crazed bear wait outside; this collection invites you on a wild sartorial expedition.
