Nehera Pre-Fall 2024 collection lookbook (42 outfits).

Ladislav ZdĂșt and his team delicately integrate AI into their designs for The Nehera Pre-Fall 2024 collection. Recognizing the charm found in the imperfections of both machine and human error, the collection, titled "Before the Storm," explores the harmonious interplay between technology and craftsmanship.

The press release accompanying the collection underscores the fascination with the quirks inherent in AI processes. It mentions "charming little glitches, sudden existential reflections, accidental poetry, and unintended humor." ZdĂșt, during a Zoom preview, emphasized the distinction between a garment's external appearance, referred to as its "envelope," and its functionality. Despite the external visual twists, the garments are meticulously crafted to ensure a perfect fit on the inside.

A standout feature of the collection is the four-sleeve coats and dresses, ingeniously engineered to offer versatility. Wearers can choose to flaunt either set of sleeves, letting the other two fly free or tying them together as a belt. Deconstructed collars and a shirt cuff-inspired design showcase the creativity in blending human ingenuity with AI-inspired concepts. A patchwork jacket, with its asymmetric inset, offers a glimpse into the team's interpretation of AI's potential misplacement of pattern pieces.

"Before the Storm" embraces a diversity of fabric mixes, ranging from single designs like an ivory cashmere robe coat with quilted sleeves to multiple layers created through inventive layering and styling. The collection's wavy two-color knits and speckle tweeds contribute to a visual texture that echoes the unrest associated with an impending storm. Despite this thematic tension, Nehera manages to infuse comfort, both physical and psychological, into the collection.

While the collection explores the theme of a storm, it maintains a glass-half-full aesthetic, steering clear of surrealism. The inclusion of a puffer anorak, alongside sleeve scarves made of wool twill, exemplifies this approach. The wool twill scarves, rather than appearing disembodied, seem to embrace the wearer, providing warmth in a way that transcends the capabilities of any algorithm.
