Emilio Pucci's Fall Winter 2024-2025 collection, curated by Creative Director Camille Miceli, is a dazzling display of color, pattern, and movement. The collection, aptly named "Pucci Parade," offers a range of pieces suitable for both high-summer holidays and urban outings.
Miceli's playful and energetic personality shines through in the collection's mood-boosting pop colors and prints. While Pucci is often associated with bold, visually stimulating designs, Miceli sought to create a more balanced approach. "You don't want to look like you're wrapped in a drapeau [a flag]," she joked.
The collection's silhouettes are predominantly short, flattering, and figure-hugging, with a fluidity that evokes the movement of skate dance. Inspired by the performances of French figure skater Surya Bonaly, Miceli incorporated elements of Bonaly's iconic costumes, including miniskirts that flare out from tight bodices.
For a touch of rockstar glamour, Miceli referenced the style of Prince in '70s-inspired, tight-fitting pantsuits rendered in sequined pinstripes. Pucci is not known for subtlety, and Miceli embraces this bold approach, injecting even more dazzle into archival prints with new colors and artistic motifs.
While paying homage to the label's legacy, Miceli has made Emilio Pucci her own. Guided by a quote from Goethe, often cited by Karl Lagerfeld, she seeks to create a better future by expanding elements from the past. The Pucci Parade collection is a testament to Miceli's ability to balance tradition with innovation, resulting in a vibrant and exciting collection that celebrates the spirit of Pucci.
