About

Benjamin Benmoyal, a French-Israeli fashion and textile designer, graduated from Central Saint Martins and worked at prestigious fashion houses like Alexander McQueen and Hermes. In 2020, he established his own label. As a former commando paratrooper, his work reflects a desire to recapture lost innocence from his military service. He created a unique fabric by weaving childhood VHS and audio cassette tapes, along with repurposed fabrics from haute couture houses' deadstocks. Benmoyal scaled up this weaving technique, collecting thousands of kilometers of magnetic tapes with the help of recycling charities and factory deadstock from the 2000s. His designs draw inspiration from his Moroccan heritage, featuring traditional outfit volumes, drapings, and colorful striped fabrics reminiscent of Berber craft. Starting from the Autumn-Winter 2021 season, he joined the official Paris Fashion Week calendar and FHCM's showroom, Sphère.
