About

Gaetano Navarra, a fashion designer of Spanish descent born in Bologna, Italy, made his debut in the fashion world at the remarkable age of 16 with his knitwear line. He introduces a new collection of ready-to-wear women's knitwear characterized by sinuous lines, vibrant colors, and daring lengths, catering to free-spirited and enterprising women. His vision encapsulates a new fashion aesthetic for the new millennium, embracing genderless, modern, and luxurious elements.

In his SS24 collection titled "Gaetano Navarra Icon Genderless," unveiled on June 8, 2023, Navarra revisits and modernizes iconic garments from his 1992 fashion show. These pieces, once donned by supermodels like Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, and Claudia Schiffer, redefine style with a contemporary twist, embracing a no-gender approach in many of the showcased items. From vichy prints to classic stripes, Navarra breathes new life into these designs, creating cropped tops, micro dresses, trousers, miniskirts, and shorts with a casual yet sophisticated flair.

Inspired by Ettore Sottsass's glasswork, the collection boasts an array of vibrant colors adorning sinuous dresses, micro tops, and minis crafted from hyper-shiny viscose. The palette juxtaposes pale hues with olive green, nude, onion, and tobacco tones, exuding an artistic and modern vibe. Navarra's attention to detail is evident in the incorporation of Swarovski crystals, ribbed textures, lace accents, and innovative knit processes, resulting in stunning long dresses, jumpsuits, and knitwear with daring necklines and intricate cutouts.
