Emilia Wickstead Fall Winter 2023-24 Fashion Show

Emilia Wickstead's Fall Winter 2023-2024 collection may surprise those who expect the brand's signature tailored and minimalist pieces. This season, the designer looked to the '90s TV show Twin Peaks for inspiration, resulting in a modern, grunge-inspired collection. Wickstead stated that her collection pays homage to the show's stylish characters, including the seductive Audrey Horne, the elegant Josie Packard, and even Agent Cooper's masculine overcoats.

The collection features oversized plaid intarsia sweaters, crinkled satins, and bell-bottom trousers, which Wickstead sees as a must-have shape for the season. The brand's signature floral prints were still present, but in unconventional color combinations such as turquoise and brown and pistachio. Black was also prominent, inspired by David Lynch's quote: "The more you throw black into a color, the more dreamy it gets."

Wickstead's runway show was held at the Royal Academy of Arts and marked the brand's return to the traditional runway format after using film presentations during the pandemic. The designer mentioned that her show was small and intimate, which felt right for the season. Alongside the fashion collection, Wickstead has expanded her offerings with a successful bridal collection and a new upholstery line, which she sees as a natural extension of her brand.
