Fetico Fall Winter 2024-25 Fashion Show

Fetico unveiled its Fall/Winter 2024-2025 Women's Collection at the Tokyo National Museum on March 13, 2024, under the theme "Eternal Favorites." Designer Emi Funayama expresses a concern about women feeling self-conscious about aging, losing their free-spiritedness due to aging, and aims to affirm the desire to admire favorite things like a young girl, regardless of age. This season draws inspiration from the gothic aesthetics of the film "The Addams Family," the dark works of American illustrator Edward Gorey, the Broadway production of "Dracula," and the peculiar dolls created by German artist Hans Bellmer.

One of the distinctive features seen throughout the collection is the gothic-inspired cross-cut details adorning the neckline of dresses, the sides of trousers, sleeves, and backs of bodysuits. These cross-cut incisions subtly reveal hints of skin, liberating an underlying feminine allure.

Moreover, the gothic-inspired cross-cuts are also transformed into feminine floral motifs, embellishing knit tops and dresses.

The lingerie-like motifs, typical of Fetico's style, make an appearance with corset-inspired bustiers. Tulle babydoll blouses, camisole dresses reminiscent of negligees, and gauze shirred dresses incorporate these motifs. Corset-like pieces that fit along the waistline accentuate the body's curves, achieving a refined style.

A prominent material symbolizing this season is the premium velvet sourced from Sabae, Fukui Prefecture. It is employed in jackets adorned with frills on the shoulders and corsets, among other garments. The matte luster of the velvet fabric lends an elegant presence to various styles. Its supple texture also creates graceful drapes in dresses and skirts.

The tight silhouettes that accentuate the beauty of women's figures remain prominent this season. However, bold silhouettes such as those achieved through quilted materials or power shoulders on jackets also catch the eye. Particularly noteworthy is the dress featuring quilted panels transitioning between the body and skirt, showcasing different expressions with each step due to its exquisite sheen.

The color palette primarily revolves around basic shades of white and black. Brown jackets and burgundy off-shoulder dresses add a touch of warmth, creating an overall harmonious tone. Light blue satin-like shirts and denim styles briefly interject subtle accents into the predominantly monochromatic world.

Furthermore, collaboration items are introduced, including bags from "The Cambridge Satchel Company" and bucket hats and bowler hats from "misaharada," a hat brand, adding further diversity to the collection.
