Gauchere Fall Winter 2024-25 Fashion Show

Gauchere Fall Winter 2024-2025 collection fashion show at Paris Fashion Week FW24 (February 29, 2024).

Marie-Christine Statz, creative director of Gauchere, presented a Fall Winter 2024-2025 collection that seamlessly blended elements of Neo-Brutalist architecture and the Bauhaus movement with structured silhouettes softened by sporty and sheer touches. Inspired by the idea of addressing multifaceted lives, Statz sought to bring ease and versatility to her designs while maintaining a sense of sophistication and femininity.

Plush textures played a central role in the collection, with padded silks adorning wrap skirts and mohair adding warmth to dresses and coats. Statz juxtaposed suiting materials with leathers, both vegan and otherwise, to elevate more casual pieces such as raw denim trousers and slouchy knits, infusing them with a sense of refinement and polish.

Proportions in this season's offering hewed closer to the body, often accentuated by belts to create an hourglass form. While not one to embrace plunging necklines, Statz introduced touches of nudity to bring a feminine yet lightness to the collection, whether through roll-neck bodysuits worn with coats or skirts and tops crafted from gauzy fabrics.

Playfulness emerged through off-kilter cuts and asymmetrical elements, including long swatches designed to be folded over and removable collars, adding an element of intrigue and dynamism to the garments.

The collection also featured a selection of accessories, such as soft clutches in varying sizes and leather socks, offering women the opportunity to personalize their looks and explore different nuances. For Statz, crafting a look is akin to painting, with each element contributing to the overall composition and expression of the wearer's individual style and personality.
