Paul Costelloe Fall Winter 2023-24 Fashion Show

Paul Costelloe kicked off London Fashion Week with his Fall Winter 2023-2024 fashion show, drawing inspiration from James Joyce's Ulysses and transporting the audience to Dublin. The show took place at the Palm Court at the Waldorf Hotel in London's West End, where the grand ballroom was adorned with columns and pillars reminiscent of ancient Greece.

The collection showcased a grunge-inspired theme, with heavy woollen blazers, tartans, and silk frocks that brushed the runway floor. The color palette was dark and moody, in keeping with the angsty tone of the collection. The highlight of the show was two metallic gowns, one of which was topped with a traditional top hat, crafted by William Clarke of Derry.

The models were styled with orange 80s-inspired wigs, nodding to the designer's roots. Backstage, TheIndustry.fashion spoke to Head MUA, Michelle Webb, about the makeup looks designed for the catwalk. Webb mentioned that the makeup was inspired by the collection, with a focus on metallics and dark colors. The makeup featured a blown-out smokey eye with a pop of copper in the center, using the Huda Beauty Khaki palette.
