Rokh Fall Winter 2024-2025 collection fashion show at Paris Fashion Week FW24 (March 4, 2024).

Rok Hwang, the visionary designer behind Rohk, has once again transported fashion enthusiasts into a realm of romanticism with his Fall Winter 2024-2025 collection. Drawing inspiration from serene moments of introspection in his studio in Seoul, Hwang embarked on a journey to explore a quieter, more contemplative aesthetic.

Known as a modern-day deconstructionist, Hwang's previous collections have delved into themes ranging from office attire to nostalgic reflections on the 1990s and 2000s. However, this season witnessed a departure from structured narratives as Hwang embraced a free-wheeling collage of disparate elements.

The collection showcased a harmonious blend of raw-edged tailoring, fragments of Victoriana, and echoes of military fatigue. One striking feature was the inclusion of a renaissance mannerist painting of a male angel, replicated on tapestries and prints, adding a touch of ethereal allure to the ensemble.

Moreover, in a bold move, Hwang introduced a significant number of men's looks, signaling an evolution in the brand's ethos towards gender-fluid fashion. This inclusive approach reflects Hwang's desire to embrace diversity and individuality in his designs.

Interestingly, echoes of Jonathan Anderson's Loewe reverberated through the collection, particularly in the juxtaposition of antique floral dévoré prints with everyday coordinates. However, Hwang's interpretation took a surreal turn as he draped fabrics over models' heads, creating an enigmatic allure that captivated the audience.

While Hwang remained elusive about his intentions, his passion for seeing individuals interpret his creations in their unique ways shone through. He emphasized the joy of witnessing people on the streets wearing Rohk, each adding their personal touch to his designs.

Despite the absence of a linear narrative, the collection mesmerized with its exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail. Standout pieces included rose-bud printed cocoon coats, creamy lace layers cascading over Victorian petticoats, and coats adorned with naive garlands of crocheted flowers.
