Vivienne Tam Fall Winter 2024-25 Fashion Show

Vivienne Tam Fall Winter 2024-2025 collection fashion show at Paris Fashion Week FW24 (March 3, 2024).

For her 30th-anniversary show in Paris, New York-based designer Vivienne Tam transported attendees on a journey celebrating neo-modern Chinese beauty and craftsmanship, infused with her signature contemporary flair.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic features of the qipao, Tam reimagined its side closure, wide sleeves, and standing collar throughout her collection, offering a modern interpretation of traditional Chinese silhouettes. The lineup encompassed a diverse range of styles, from traditional-looking qipao dresses to flirty minidresses and minimalist chic tunics.

However, it was Tam's exploration of tailored suits that yielded the most striking results. Incorporating motifs from classic Chinese iconography, such as dragons and symbols representing the five elements, into prints and embroideries, Tam achieved a perfect fusion of East-meets-West aesthetics. Denim jacquard jackets and retro-cool dresses exuded a sense of effortless sophistication, while a meticulously crafted suit showcased graphic fabric closures that created captivating asymmetry.

Tam's longstanding brand signature, lightweight netting dresses, made a notable appearance, adding an ethereal touch to the collection.

The grand finale of the show was dedicated to bridal wear, featuring a stunning array of options that paid homage to Chinese traditions. From regal red and gold ensembles to a breathtaking gown adorned with lace intricately weaving together the Chinese character for love and its French counterpart "amour," Tam's bridal creations epitomized her visionary approach to merging Eastern and Western influences.
