Arthur Arbesser Fall Winter 2024-25 Lookbook

Arthur Arbesser Fall Winter 2024-2025 collection lookbook presented at Milano Fashion Week FW24 (February 24, 2024).

Arthur Arbesser's Fall Winter 2024-2025 collection takes inspiration from the charming world of Viennese shop owner Monika Kaesser, whose refined taste and dignified demeanor have captivated the designer since childhood. Drawing from memories of Kaesser's eclectic knickknack emporium, Arbesser translates her impeccable style and good taste into an arty lineup that pays homage to her legacy.

Despite the vintage hairdos and nostalgic imagery, Arbesser's look book transports us to the present, where the spirit of Kaesser's shop continues to inspire. It was in 1976 that Kaesser first opened her shop, a haven filled with glass vases, turn-of-the-century silver trinkets, and sophisticated costume jewelry, all meticulously displayed with a sense of elegance and chic.

For Arbesser, Kaesser's refined gestures and formal manners have always exuded charm, serving as the foundation for his fall collection. A chance encounter turned into a daylong conversation with Kaesser becomes the catalyst for Arbesser's creative exploration, as he seeks to recreate her distinctive fashion style infused with his own arty sensibilities.

The collection unfolds with airy opera coats crafted from Kaesser's favorite fabric, silk duchesse, layered over A-line skirts. Glassware from Kaesser's shop, including a green stem glass from the Arbesser family's own collection, inspires prints on pleated skirts and matching shirts, reminiscent of early Paul Smith motifs.

Arbesser's signature colorful checkerboard motif takes on new life in ruched tank dresses and hand-painted tulle blazers, showcasing the designer's playful yet sophisticated approach to design. Naif geometric patterns, reminiscent of the potato printing technique popular in the 1920s, adorn turtlenecks and bralettes, adding a touch of whimsy and nostalgia to the collection.

Each piece in Arbesser's collection is infused with a sense of affection and admiration for Kaesser's legacy, resulting in a lineup that seamlessly blends past and present. As the Trinket Woman's spirit continues to inspire, Arbesser's fall collection serves as a testament to the enduring allure of Viennese charm and the timeless appeal of good taste.
