The Garment is steadily carving its niche, and the Pre-Fall 2025 collection solidifies its place as a rising name in modern wardrobe essentials. Founded in 2020 by Charlotte Eskildsen, the Copenhagen-based label reflects a thoughtful, evolutionary design ethos. With spring 2024 marking Sophia Roe’s departure, Eskildsen now helms the brand solo, carrying forward its signature simplicity and refined style. Notably, members of the Danish royal family have been seen in attendance at the brand’s shows—a testament to its quiet, polished appeal.

For Pre-Fall 2025, Eskildsen focuses on contrasts, pairing “something really sheer and something really heavy together,” as she described. A semi-sheer shirt, for instance, is styled with a gray tailored suit accented by a delicate bow on the breast pocket, blending structure with softness. The same suit jacket later reappears, this time partnered with a chiffon skirt—a pairing that embodies Eskildsen’s focus on versatility and modern femininity. Double knits are layered over fine turtlenecks, offering texture without sacrificing the brand’s minimalist sensibility.

Bows, a subtle motif from the spring collection, find new life in pre-fall, adorning the backs of tops and jackets and tying together the collection’s evolution. Flowing organza blouses, abbreviated for the season, demonstrate Eskildsen’s commitment to continuity—a deliberate move that favors longevity over fleeting trends. “I’m not that focused on what the new thing is,” she explained. “It’s time to carry on things that you paid a lot of effort into developing.”

The collection is also informed by Eskildsen’s connection to France. Inspired by the hues of southern France—a region she associates with Denmark’s Louisiana Museum—she seamlessly blends French and Scandinavian sensibilities. The result is a collection that feels both polished and practical, maintaining the brand’s clean lines while introducing soft color palettes and subtle drapes.

With Pre-Fall 2025, The Garment continues to refine its vision: timeless, meticulously crafted pieces that balance weight and airiness, structure and flow. Eskildsen’s focus on durability and thoughtful design resonates in every detail, creating a wardrobe that feels as enduring as it does elegant.
